NEW DELHI: The IPL 2025 mega auction promises high drama as 574 players set to go under the hammer, with stars like Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer in the spotlight.
Both Pant and Iyer are expected to attract intense bidding wars as they headline the Set 1 of marquee players, along with Jos Buttler, Kagiso Rabada, Arshdeep Singh and Mitchell Starc, with franchises eyeing experienced leaders and dynamic finishers. Pant, returning from injury, and Iyer, a proven middle-order anchor, could redefine team strategies.
A total of 81 players opted for the top bracket of Rs 2 crore.
The two-day auction will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on November 24 and 25. The auction will start at 3PM IST.
Emerging talents and international powerhouses will also add intrigue, as franchises aim to build balanced squads. With a mega auction format allowing fresh team compositions, fans can expect surprises, record-breaking bids, and plenty of excitement as teams prepare for the 2025 season.
The IPL 2025 mega auction will feature 574 players, including 366 Indians and 208 overseas cricketers, with three from associate nations. Among them, 318 are uncapped Indian players, while 12 are uncapped overseas players, ensuring opportunities for emerging talent.
A total of 204 slots are available across all franchises, with 70 reserved for overseas players. This setup will challenge teams to strike the right balance between experienced stars and fresh faces.
